COVID-19 Travel Requirements

Both the UK and French governments have introduced additional entry requirements and restrictions due to COVID-19. Please remember, it is your responsibility to ensure you check and comply with the latest health and travel regulations. Anyone not meeting travel regulations or failing to produce the required documentation for their journey will not be permitted to travel.

We are open and our service is running

However, due to the need for all passengers to comply with the COVID-19 travel requirements specified by the UK and FR governments, all Le Shuttle bookings must be made at least 24 hours in advance. It is no longer possible to purchase a ticket at check-in.

Travel from the UK to France

We do our best to interpret and update this page as soon as advice from the French government changes. For the very latest advice on entering France, we recommend checking diplomatie.gouv.frinterieur.gouv.fr and uk.ambafrance.org before travel.

Vaccinated Travellers

1. Sworn statement of honour
Fully vaccinated passengers are only required to complete a "Statement of honour"

This must be completed for each passenger, and presented digitally or printed to border control authorities.

Fully vaccinated passengers, and passengers under 12 years old, will not be required to present negative COVID tests to enter French territory, but proof of vaccination status will need to be presented at border controls

You will not be required to quarantine upon arrival in France. Unvaccinated minors travelling with fully vaccinated adults will not be required to quarantine.

Important: Prior to travel, you can upload the required document above to your booking by logging into your account/booking and completing your Health Declarations. Failure to do so will result in manual checks being required which could delay your departure.

Unvaccinated Travellers

1. French health declarations
Unvaccinated passengers are required to supply 2 documents

Download both documents from interieur.gouv.fr
(Click "TRAVEL TO/FROM AN AMBER LIST COUNTRY")

These must be completed for each passenger, and presented digitally or printed to border control authorities.

2. Negative COVID tests
Unvaccinated passengers over 12 years old require a negative result from a non-NHS PCR test or a non-NHS Antigen (lateral flow) test taken no more than 24 hours before travel. Find a private test provider.

At French border controls you will need to present digital or paper evidence of the negative result from the private test provider.

3. Quarantine
Unvaccinated passengers over 12 years old must quarantine for 7 days upon arrival in France (unless transiting through France in under 24hrs). Unvaccinated minors travelling with fully vaccinated adults will not be required to quarantine.

Important: Prior to travel, you can upload the required documents/results above to your booking by logging into your account/booking and completing your Health Declarations. Failure to do so will result in manual checks being required which could delay your departure.

Important: All passengers must follow the rules and requirements for travelling from an Amber list country, even if transiting through France from a Green list country to the UK.

Fully Vaccinated Travellers

1. A negative COVID test
All passengers
aged 11 or over travelling on our passenger service require a negative result from a non-NHS PCR or a non-NHS Antigen (lateral flow). You must take the test in the 3 days before your booked departure.

At UK border controls you will need to present an email or text message certificate in English, French or Spanish issued by the testing facility (more information) - failure to do so will result in a £500 fine.

There is no COVID-19 testing facility at the Eurotunnel site. It's your responsibility to ensure the test meets the minimum standards for sensitivity, specificity and viral load details.

2. A "Day 2" COVID test
Fully vaccinated passengers must also purchase/book a travel testing package prior to travel (check rules for children and young people). After arrival, you must take a coronavirus (COVID-19) test on or before the second day. The "test pack" must be booked for each passenger (children aged 4 and under do not need to take these tests) before you begin your trip and its reference number must be specified on your passenger locator form before travelling. Details can be found here.

3. Passenger Locator Form
All passengers
aged 18 or over must complete an individual passenger locator form before arrival at the terminal in France (details of children under 18 must be included on the form completed by the adult accompanying them). Each passenger locator form must specify the unique reference number of the booked pre-travel testing package. This form must be presented in digital or paper format to the border authorities.

Each passenger must bring ALL the above documents and supporting evidence with them, ready to present to the authorities.

Important: Prior to travel, you can upload the required documents/results above to your booking, by logging into your account/booking and completing your Health Declarations. Failure to do so will result in manual checks being required which could delay your departure.
